Sponsor our Long-Term Foster Dogs

Occasionally, we may take in a dog which due to its age or medical needs is not suitable to be put up for adoption. In these circumstances, Pawfection Rehoming will put a care plan together for long term foster placement.

The dog will be placed with suitable fosterers on the basis that the dog will remain with that fosterer for the rest of their life. Pawfection Rehoming will pay for all medical expenses, treatments, training and rehabilitation costs as well as the provision of food, equipment and other basic essentials to care for the dog in a loving home environment. On-going support will be carried out with the help of one of our Rehoming Officers.

This is a very expensive service and relies on Pawfection Rehoming raising funds to enable us to cover the costs involved.

If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, please complete the Initial Contact Form and one of our volunteers will discuss the options available.

One of the dogs who found herself in this situation is Nala.

Nala (affectionately called Numpty Nora!) was a lovely 7 year old Presa Canario who needed surgery on one of her knees and continued rehabilitation to help build and maintain muscle in her legs. Nala was taken in by us in late 2022 and over the last two years we spent in the region of £6000 on treatment, physio and medications for her.

Nala also suffered from separation anxiety from her long term foster carer, our founder Michelle, who cared for Nala for the last 14 months of her life, which made it hard (but not impossible) for her to adapt to other environments outside of her foster home.

Despite all her health issues, Numpty Nora was able to live a happy and active life thanks to the support of her long term fosterers and the help of our community. She always loved life and was a cracking dog with a lot of love to give.

Having a foster home gave her a safe space and it meant that she always felt secure and safe to have someone to turn to whenever she was ill.

We went through a lot of health scares and ups and downs with Nala up until earlier this year in March, where she sadly lost her life to stomach bloat.

Even if fostering a dog is not right for you, you can help us to support dogs like Narla by making regular monthly donations (we suggest £5 per month as a typical donation).  Your generosity will help us support dogs that might otherwise face being put to sleep.
